Monique Coakley embarked on her career in Human Resources with a solid foundation in the health insurance industry and has demonstrated exceptional professional growth over the years. She joined the Freeport Container Port in 2006 as a Human Resources Benefits Administrator and progressively advanced through the roles of Total Rewards Administrator, Human Resources Manager, Deputy Chief People Officer, and most recently, Human Resources Director.
Throughout her tenure, Mrs. Coakley has consistently exemplified professionalism, discretion, and composure while managing highly sensitive matters. Her passion for Human Resources is evident in her interactions with employees, where she combines empathy with strategic insight to deliver meaningful support and foster positive workplace experiences.
A firm advocate for the strategic value of Human Resources in driving employee engagement, loyalty, and organizational performance, Mrs. Coakley has implemented initiatives that strengthen both workforce morale and operational effectiveness. She has maintained the highest ethical standards and strict confidentiality, earning the respect of colleagues and is a trusted advisor within the organization.
Among her notable accomplishments are the establishment of the Corporate Wellness Program and the organization of Women’s Empowerment Seminars. Mrs. Coakley earned an Associate Degree in Business Administration with distinction from Success Training College, where she received the Collegiatorian Award and was recognized as the 1st Place Business Management Student. She subsequently obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration – Human Resource Management, graduating summa cum laude from Colorado Technical University. Continuing her academic excellence, she earned a Master’s Degree in Business Management with a specialization in Human Resources Management from Capella University, graduating with a 4.0 GPA.
Her professional credentials further demonstrate her commitment to excellence. Mrs. Coakley holds the Certified Professional (CP) and Senior Certified Professional (SCP) designations from the Society for Human Resource Management, along with certifications in Employment Law, Human Resources/Personnel Management, and Management Development. She has also earned Associate Customer Service and Health Insurance Associate designations, the National Society of Leadership & Success certificate, and the Professional Certified Trainer designation through the Trainsmart IBCT Train-the-Trainer Program. Her pursuit of advanced education and professional certifications reflects her dedication to continuous learning and mastery within her field.
Mrs. Coakley is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and Capella University’s Chapter of the National Society for Leadership and Success. She also serves on the Freeport Container Port Scholarship and Donations Committees, contributing to initiatives that support education and community development.
