The role provides professional engineering support for teams, ensuring requisite standards are adhered to with all related documentation completed. Provide technical and electrical engineering support to the company’s maintenance requirements for cranes, spreaders, and other Port equipment.
The successful candidate must be aUniversity Graduate in Electrical Engineering (qualified engineer) with siemens/similar platform literate along with a minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in industrial operations with PLC systems, remote operations, Konecranes, quay cranes, mobile harbor cranes, Kalmar, ZPMC, preventative and corrective maintenance.
The successful candidate must have the knowledge, skills and ability to:
- Lead team in maintaining electrical equipment for routine preventative and corrective maintenance and annual overhauls.
- Track faults and rectification of routine maintenance of equipment.
- Maintain remote operated systems for ZPMC RMQC; controlling siemens systems; Programmable controllers programming, applications & trouble shooting.
- Attend and solve breakdown calls in a timely manner for continuity and smooth operations with the ability to lead, develop, and manage people.
- Conduct field design improvements and trouble shoot electrical issues with knowledge of local and international electrical codes that is applicable to the container terminal industry.
- Have proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Essential functions include, but are not limited to:
- Ensuring that the organization of the electrical engineering services effectively blends with the overall engineering services to be provided.
- Ensuring that the overall effectiveness of Electrical Engineering required service while providing on- the-job training to selected employees.
- Reviewing projected demands on electrical services while following up on remedial works resulting from programmed maintenance scheduling to ensure that works are undertaken within an acceptable time scale and standards required by FCP.
- Recommending modifications and/or innovations that contribute to the overall cost effectiveness and efficiency of the Engineering Department.
- Staying abreast of current trends and concepts relating to electrical and electronic maintenance and procedures.
- Identifying and recommending stock levels of electrical and electronic components which are required for the efficient and cost-effective maintenance of FCP electrical equipment.
- Participating in the design, inspection, commissioning, testing and acceptance of all new equipment as directed.
- Ensuring that all warranty procedures directly relating to the scope of his/her area of expertise are recognized and followed.
- Ensuring compliance with Company Safety policy in areas under your control.
- Providing electronic engineering repairs on Port Cranes, carrying out planned maintenance as well as dealing with breakdown quickly and effectively to cause the least amount of machinery downtime.
