The Human Resource Manager with responsibilities for “Total Rewards”, data, statistics and analysis will have responsibility for leading and managing the compensation and benefits team, while addressing various forms of direct (employees’ pay) and indirect compensation (employees’ benefits) that the Company use to attract, recognise and retain workers. In summary, the purpose of this position is multifaceted and requires a devout human resource professional with exceptional people leadership skills for the administration of compensation and benefits, and various other employee services mandated by local laws, regulations, and internal industrial agreements.
The successful candidate must possess the following professional and academic qualifications, experience, and KSAs:
- A minimum of seven (7) years’ experience performing in a Human Resource managerial and leadership role, a bachelor’s degree in human resource management and be a certified professional or senior certified professional in Human Resource Management
- Must have the ability to manage and lead a team of skilled professionals in a complex multi-company industrial and hospitality environment.
- Possess the ability to design, implement and maintain employee compensation and benefits plans.
- Knowledgeable in both human resources and finance to excel in this role.
- Ability to monitor employee performance and drive compensation decisions.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills; written and oral
- Knowledgeable in HR technologies, HRMS and HRIS – HR/WFTK and Payroll.
- Knowledge of government mandated compensation and benefits regulations, The Bahamas Employment Act 2001 and The Bahamas Industrial Relations Act.
- Possess the ability to bring credibility to the HR total rewards function through professional training and qualification.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to:
- As needed, provide special guidance and assistance to all business unit management and staff on various compensation and benefits plans.
- Survey industry and/or community to determine the company’s competitive position in employee compensation and benefits. Analyse results of surveys and develop specific recommendations for review by the Human Resource Director
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiations for benefit programs.
- Advise management on best practices for total rewards and talent retention.
- Conduct audits and review of total rewards programs to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
- Manage the HR compensation and benefits team and rewards programs and initiatives e.g., group insurance, pension/savings plans, school fees and uniform and book allowance, bonus schemes, long service awards, and special operational compensation initiatives.
